There are times in the year that cause undue stress, how are my bracket selections going to perform during the March Madness which is NCAA basketball. And other times when we really should have a measure of stress, such as Mother’s Day, valentines, and of course April 30th. The question for each of these days is am I ready for it? I can’t give a whole lot of advice of the former days but for April 30th I have a thing or two to say and a useful tool to provide.

With April 30th coming upon us, the thing that we need to remember is, the sooner the information is provided to my accounting team the quicker the turn around and quite often better the result. For the time gives ability to pause think and ensure I have all my income and all my potential deductions included in my filings. Summarizing the deductions, in a spreadsheet and providing copies of medical bills, donations, professional dues, etc. will make the process more efficient and economical.

For clarification of the personal tax filing deadline, due for employed and retirees on April 30th, those who are self-employed have until June 15th to file (taxes owing are still due by April 30th).
